As a landscape painter, I approach my work by interpreting and applying the principles of light and shadow, bringing the paintings to life. I hope the viewer gets a sense of awe and the pieces project the sense of wonder I see when I observe and paint the work.
BIO/RESUME
I have always been interested in creating. I began my formal education in art while attending Boise State University in the 1980s as a Graphics Design major, earning an BFA . This program gave me experience in several mediums: painting, photography, illustration, print making, ceramics, silver smithing and art history. After graduation, I worked as a graphics designer for 20 years before opening my own graphics design studio. I retired from design in 2013 and began to focus on fine art painting, developing my own approaches to landscape painting. My husband, an architect and a ceramics artist, and I built a dedicated studio to pursue our commitment to art making.
