All things in nature are worthy of trying to interpret through art, but I believe that trees are pure magic! That such majestic creatures can form from a single tiny seed is certainly alchemy at its finest. Every tree is unique in the shape it chooses. Whether curvy, straight, thick, thin, smooth, bumpy, towering, or tiny, all are enchanting. Trees and all of the varied environments in which they live and thrive are the major inspiration for my artwork. My work is about form and movement and color within the landscape. I manipulate shapes and lines to give motion to the composition, and I build complex layered colors to create depth and to mimic the many amazing textures that exist in the natural world.
