My work is a vibrant exploration of motion and emotion, captured through the dynamic interplay of color and texture. Each piece is a form of visual journaling, where the canvas becomes a diary of my creative process and emotional journey. Drawing inspiration from the improvisational spirit of jazz, I embrace spontaneity and fluidity in my art, allowing each brushstroke to flow freely and rhythmically. Through my energetic pieces, I aim to convey the depth and intensity of human experience, inviting viewers to feel the movement and passion that drive my work.
Joelle Ater, owner of Art Revel Gallery, is a dynamic artist adept in textured acrylic abstract expressionist paintings. Her work has been described as having a "poetic intensity." With a lifelong passion for art, Joelle took every available art class during college and continues to explore her artistic journey with bold and colorful creations. Although she has been an artist her entire life, Joelle has solely pursued abstract painting for the past five years.
As an art educator, she is passionate about teaching and encouraging others, believing that everyone has innate creativity. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Joelle leverages her skills as a Creative Director for the nonprofit Riley's Residence, and Creative Camp Director of Basecamp Tech Fest. When she’s not occupied with painting, you can find her rollerskating on the Greenbelt.
