Jodi Miller

I’m an Idaho-based artist painting in abstract realism, exploring the theme of transformation—navigating the paradox of finding true identity in the midst of uncertainty. My paintings are layered with intuitive play, written prophetic hopes, texture, mark-making, and patterns—inviting viewers into the truth of who they are and who they desire to become, particularly in the areas of mental health and spirituality. In addition to nature, the female portraiture, and patterns found in textiles, I’m inspired by the use of light to define form and tell a story of hope—pushing out the darkness. Despite being colorblind from birth, I have learned to use this, not as a limitation, but as one of my creative superpowers—painting in unique color stories that reflect the colors I can see in reality and in my heart. My paintings invite the viewer into their own hero’s journey of being an overcomer—someone pursuing truth and hope in the midst of challenges. My paintings are multi-layered with explorations in intuitive play, mark-making, texture, transparency, pattern, and light. Though each piece appears powerful from a distance, up close the hidden nuances truly convey the story of each piece. I am passionate about conveying inevitable transformation in the symbols, subject matter, and the themes of each piece that especially highlight the paradox of finding one’s true identity in the face of uncertainty—specifically, in the life of individual pursuit, neuro-diversity, mental health and spirituality.

About Jodi Miller

Boise-based artist, Jodi Miller, has been driven by her passion for art and all things creative since a young child growing up in Southern Idaho. Following her graduation in Textile Design and Graphic Design from the University of Idaho's College of Art and Architecture, Jodi designed textiles for Tommy Bahama and Eddie Bauer in Washington, Land's End in Wisconsin, and Two Old Hippies in Nashville, Tennessee. After which she embarked out on her own with decorative art products called “Beautiful Words” that allowed her to develop relationships in the marketplace.

After more than 17 years in the fashion industry and the decorative arts market, Jodi began to make the ultimate shift to fine arts in 2021. Jodi began completing a series of paintings in her dreams at night and it was then that she resolved to commit to painting full-time, converting her design studio into a fine art painting studio. Jodi, most recently, has graduated from the Milan Art Institute’s Mastery Program, showing pieces at the Milan Art Gallery in Sarasota, Florida, and competed on the fourth season of The Outstanding Artist set to release on YouTube January of 2026. She has become prolific in creating mixed media oil paintings in abstract realism. You can find her original artwork locally at Mixed Greens Boise, Water's Edge Gallery for BOSCO's Art & Song, and at Best of BOSCO Show at FireFusion Studio & Delia Dante Gallery.

“It’s all about transformation. Once someone is awakened to the the truth of who they are—everything changes!”

Surrounded by a family full of musicians and artists, Jodi is right at home creating full-time in her studio in Boise’s West Bench. Jodi is currently working on a series of abstract paintings—pushing her personal artistic boundaries with color, pattern, transparency, light, emotion and movement.
