Kathi Holzer

After spending 32 years dedicated to shaping the minds and bodies of countless students as a physical education teacher and coach, I embarked on a new chapter at the age of 60 by pursuing the idea of art. During my years as an educator, I found moments of solace and inspiration in the creative process but never had the time or experience to put pen to paper. Upon retirement, I decided to fully immerse myself in the world of art, channeling my energy and enthusiasm into painting and drawing. My journey as an artist has been a deeply rewarding exploration of color, form, and emotion. Drawing upon my experiences in education and athletics, I bring a unique perspective to my artwork, infusing it with themes of discipline, perseverance, and the beauty of the human spirit. Nature, movement, and the human form serve as my primary sources of inspiration. I find inspiration in the intricate patterns of the natural world, the grace of athletes in motion, and the profound connections between mind, body, and soul. Experimentation and curiosity drive my artistic practice. I work with a variety of mediums, including acrylics, oils watercolors, mixed media and hot beeswax, constantly exploring new techniques and pushing the boundaries of my creativity. My mission through art is to inspire others to embrace their creativity, follow their passions and find beauty in the world around them. I believe that art has the power to uplift, unite and transform lives and I am committed to sharing my love of art with others.
