I moved west as a young man from the green hills of Vermont to the rugged mountains of Montana in pursuit of a professional degree in architecture. After acquiring my masters of architecture from Montana State, my wife Danielle and I migrated south, out of the snow, to amazing Boise, Idaho. During my thesis year in 1996, I filled in a gap with an advanced level furniture design class...it changed my life. I have been designing and building custom furniture ever since. This has developed into Studio 1212, a stellar, hardworking team that ships hundreds of pieces of custom and production furniture nationwide each year.
Studio 1212 is a design and production handmade furniture studio located in the Surel Mitchell live?work?create District of Garden City. We are surrounded by a talented community of artists and creatives.
The process of creating bespoke furniture is much like any creative process. A spark of an idea, a perios of rumination, a deisgn phase that may be minutes, hours or years, then continued design during fabrication and production. We are fortunate to have clients that work with existing designs and want small changes to keep the shop productive, as well as clients who give us full creative license to fill their needs.
