For an artist, making images is a deep dive into the psyche. The act of painting is how the chaotic stew of thought, impression, opinion and history get turned into the visual form. To share these images is to open the door to vulnerability - an act of courage for sure - but also a means to keep on moving, releasing, growing, and making room for more work.
I grew up in San Francisco, California. The stimulus of a vibrant city and an insane family were fertile ground for an artistically inclined kid.
I moved to the small northern California town of Sonoma where I received a BA in Fine Art from Sonoma State University. I married, had a daughter, traveled the world and deepened my art practice. In 2018 I moved to Boise where I now divide my time between the studio and the stunning foothills of the Rocky Mountains with my best boy at my side - Diego Rey (dog of questionable parentage though there was definitely a Border Collie involved).
I welcome visitors to my studio - making art is an endeavor done in solitude but sharing art is done in the company of curious minds and hearing what those curious minds have to say is how art comes alive.
