Giny Pitchell

painting (acrylic)

I was born in Germany and have lived in many countries throughout my life. I’ve exhibited my work in Germany, Munich, Istanbul, California and Boise. Boise has been my home since 1992. Art and design have been a part of my life as long as I can remember. My inspiration comes from different cultures and people. Huge skyscrapers in New York or an ancient cathedral in Italy can get my creative juices flowing. The power of the architectural diversity of buildings, old or new, reaching for unknown boundaries evoke a feeling of strength and a profound sense of hope for people’s aspirations. I always look for new ways to express myself, be it abstractly, stylized, or a direction that has yet to be discovered. I hold a B.A. in Fine Arts from Humboldt State University and San Jose State University with advanced studies in Europe. I work with acrylics and mixed media. I’m currently a member of Art Zone 208 Boise.
