I received a BA from Carleton College in Northfield, MN, and a MFA in Ceramics from the University of Miami in Miami, Fl. I pursued a career as a ceramic artist from 1978 through 1984 focusing on low fired Terra Sigillata. After moving to Idaho, I took a 30 year hiatus and pursued a challenging and fulfilling career in the public sector. My retirement in 2014 allowed me to resume my career in ceramics and to explore a wide range of glazing, forming and firing methods. I continue to work with Terra Sigillata but have expanded to creating functional items in stoneware and decorative items in Raku. Lately, I have been exploring ways to incorporate texture and line drawings in my work. I love seeing how each design manifests itself as I employ them repeatedly using these three mediums; Raku, Stoneware, and Terra Sigillata.
