Ever since I was a little girl making doll dresses I have loved working with fiber. Most of my current work is created using a wet-felting method to turn wool into felt. Although some of my work comments on the natural world, my real love is to play with contrasts – contrasts in color, in texture, matt versus shiny, hard versus soft, one material contrasting with another, one technique next to another -- because of the interest and excitement that they bring. My love of rich color is important. I am a sculptor at heart; I love organic three-dimensional forms, whether they stand independently or hang on the wall.
