Matt Ciranni

My work is all about depth of perception and capturing three dimensional surreal worlds onto two dimensional mediums.  I seek to pull people into fantastic and surreal worlds. Blending the natural world around us and places that have inspired me, with fantastic and unreal scenes.  My inspiration is science fiction, fantasy, nature, the outdoors, and a variety of artists.

One day, while playing an ancient dungeon-crawler video game with vectorized graphics, I realized how simple it was to create whole worlds with single point perspective.  And so I started drawing, sketching interior spaces and doodling on my notebooks during college lectures, and soon, I ventured into doing full-scale drawings.  Eventually I developed my style, branching out into two and even three point perspective, and incorporating more and more fantasy and futuristic scenes and nature/outdoors inspired scenes into my work.  I got my first public exhibition in 2006 at a local wine bar, and since then, I have had countless showings throughout the greater Boise area.  I joined the Boise Open Studios group in 2018 with the goal of sharing my work and how I visually see the world and create these works from it.
