Marcella Gillenwater

With the infinite possibilities of the paint I reach for the "language of intent" that is felt in every object and every individual, whether it be of a representational or abstract result. To this expression, I dedicate my work and allow my mind to be set free.

Artist Bio

Marcella Gillenwater was born in Idaho and holds a BFA from Utah State University. After graduating, Marcella relocated to New York City for four years in order to advance her career in the arts. This was were she had the opportunity to delve into the museums and  immerse herself in the works of Degas, Vermeer, Sorolla, Payne, Modigliani, Rembrandt and many other magnificent artists.  During that time, she began showing her work at venues and galleries.

Returning to her beloved Idaho in 2010, where the dirt draws flowers and the sun mixes new colors, Marcella has been painting full-time for over 12 years and working directly with galleries.  This year in June she ventured into opening her own gallery located in Eagle, Idaho. Her devotion to art, her search for knowledge and penchant for learning continues to enlighten and inspire her artistic quests.
