Kay Seurat

As a native Idahoan, I've always wanted to be somewhere else.

I've found that since I can never travel as much as I’d like, the best way to fulfill my wanderlust is to immerse myself in the arts and cultures of the world, in the history of art as well as what I imagine the future will be.

I can best do this through my art.

Influences from around the globe and through time and space can be seen in my work.

I still live in Idaho, and like it more all the time.

I create sculpture & jewelry, and teach Metalsmithing and jewelry making in my home-based studio.

Artist Bio

Kay Seurat has been a self-supporting artist since 1991, creating handmade, one of a kind jewelry using sterling silver, gemstones, fossils and found objects. She has shared her work at art shows, local markets, galleries and shops, artist cooperatives, and studio shows. Kay started sharing her metalsmithing skills with students in 2001, in small studio classes.

She also creates found object and steel sculpture in a variety of styles, techniques, and subject matter.

Kay starts with what she finds intriguing in the world, captures or reinterprets it in metal, then shares that new version with the world.

Her work can be seen at the Boise Art Museum store, the Idaho History Museum shop, on Instagram, Facebook, her website, and by appointment.
